Waiting...

On the eve of my due date I am sitting here feeling much like a mother hen patiently waiting on her nest.  I have a peace that this baby will come at the right time.  I'm not in a hurry to put myself into labor, I know that every day of my child's life is planned in God's heart, especially his birthday.

But I also feel like a bit of a ticking time bomb...it could be any day now and it makes me scared to leave the house.  I've been getting phone calls every day from friends and family waiting for the news...only for me to disappoint them with the reality that nothing is happening...yet.

And so we wait...

I did finish my baby blanket...and then a hat and pair of booties.

Today I have been obsessively nesting, so maybe that's a good sign.  I just don't know what else to do with myself.

  1. screen calls.change your message to "no he's not here yet- when he is you will know." I know how you feel. I fought my doctor for half my pregnancy with Caia; he wanted her out by 39wks...I insisted on waiting to 42 if necessary. He said that wasn't possible, I said there was no other option. So we waited, week after week, weekly trips for ultrasounds to make sure the fluid was sufficient (it actually got better over time, lol) until the first day of the 42nd week I said, ok...it's time...and out she came. All 8lbs, 10oz of her :)

  2. I have been thinking of you a lot lately. I remember you telling me, "God said to wait, so I'm waiting...I don't know what for, but I'm waiting." You had such peace about it...and that's what I'm hoping for now. Of course, just as I hit "publish" to this post, I had a contraction. :) So we'll see if today is the day.
